Building capacity for what comes next.

Selected Organizations

Some work transcends industry.

Evolve’s primary market focus is the built world, particularly architecture, engineering, construction, real estate and related organizations.

We also selectively work with organizations in other sectors when the situation calls for the combination of organizational development, executive advisory and human development that Evolve brings.

Over the years, our work has taken us inside global corporations, technology and media companies, manufacturers, research institutions, associations, nonprofits and other complex organizations.

What matters most is whether stronger leadership and organizational capacity can materially change what happens next.

Where our experience travels well

Different industries create different contexts.

Yet some leadership and organizational challenges travel remarkably well across them.

Leaders assume responsibilities that require them to operate differently.

Organizations outgrow structures and relationships that once served them.

Executive teams must make consequential decisions together.

New leadership changes expectations and authority.

Organizations restructure, integrate or reinvent themselves.

People must carry significant change while continuing to perform.

The setting changes. Many of the human and organizational dynamics underneath it do not.

Technology, Media & Innovation

Evolve has supported leaders across technology, entertainment, media and innovation-driven organizations including Disney, WarnerMedia, Salesforce, Clari, X, The Moonshot Factory, CoreWeave and Cadence.

Our work has included executive coaching, leadership transitions, leadership development and support for leaders operating through significant growth, restructuring and organizational change.

These environments move quickly. Roles evolve, technologies reshape work and leaders are frequently asked to operate beyond the expertise that first established their credibility.

Development becomes most useful when it stays connected to the organizational reality leaders are actually navigating.

Engineering, Manufacturing, Energy & Technical Organizations

Evolve’s experience includes Woodside Energy, Ball Aerospace, Siemens, Battelle, REM Electronics and Bayer, alongside the architecture and engineering organizations represented in our built-world practice.

Engagements have ranged from executive coaching and team development to enterprise-scale leadership development and whole-system organizational assessment.

These organizations reinforce a pattern we see repeatedly: deep technical capability creates enormous value, but increasing complexity requires something more from leaders and the systems around them.

Technical capability and organizational capability become increasingly interdependent as responsibility grows.

Associations, Nonprofits & Mission-Driven Organizations

Mission-driven organizations have shaped Evolve from its earliest years.

Our work has included Ashoka, the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), Lever Fund, District Bridges, Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) and other nonprofit and association clients.

Engagements have ranged from executive advisory and coaching to governance, organizational diagnosis, team development, strategic facilitation and whole-organization work.

These organizations often carry ambitious missions within complex stakeholder environments and finite resources.

Purpose does not reduce the need for organizational effectiveness. It raises the stakes of getting it right.

Education, Civic & Community Institutions

Evolve has also worked with organizations rooted in education, community and public purpose, including Stanford Graduate School of Education, ULI Washington, All Souls Unitarian, St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church and District of Columbia institutions and schools.

Our work has included leadership and team development, executive partnership, governance, strategic facilitation and organizational development in settings where multiple stakeholders, institutional history and deeply held values shape how change can occur.

These organizations remind us that effectiveness is not solely a commercial question. It is also about stewardship: how leaders care for an institution, its people, its purpose and its future.

Organizations built around enduring purpose need the leadership and organizational capacity to carry that purpose forward.

Across sectors, we look for fit rather than sameness.

Evolve does not carry a solution from one industry and simply apply it to another.

Context matters.

Industry matters.

History matters.

Our strongest engagements tend to share a different set of characteristics:

  • leadership quality materially affects what happens next

  • the challenge crosses individual, team or organizational boundaries

  • the work requires judgment rather than a standardized solution

  • human dynamics and organizational performance cannot be neatly separated

  • leaders are willing to examine what is actually happening

  • the goal is greater internal capacity, not long-term dependence on an outside advisor

We do our best work where the problem cannot be solved by changing one person, one process or one box on an organizational chart.

Our primary focus: the built world

Evolve is intentionally concentrating its market development, research and practice across architecture, engineering, construction, real estate and the broader built-world ecosystem.

Our experience elsewhere remains an asset.

Technology has shown us organizations adapting at speed. Manufacturing and engineering have sharpened our understanding of technical leadership. Media has exposed us to repeated reinvention. Mission-driven organizations have deepened our thinking about stewardship and governance. Research and educational institutions have reinforced the importance of knowledge, professional identity and institutional purpose.

That wider experience gives us perspective.

Our built-world focus gives that perspective somewhere to compound.

Cross-sector experience broadens our field of view. Built-world focus sharpens where we apply it.

Is there a fit?

If your organization is navigating a consequential period of leadership, growth, transition or change and our way of working resonates, we would be glad to hear what is happening.

You do not need to fit neatly into an industry category. Start with the situation.
