Joy Khoo, MCC helps leaders step into their authentic selves, fostering greater flow and impactful results. She partners with clients to deepen self-awareness and self-acceptance while sustainably improving their well-being at work—ultimately driving stronger business outcomes. Her coaching focuses on topics such as burnout, imposter syndrome, stress management, executive presence, difficult conversations, conflict resolution, resilience, boundaries and self-compassion.

Joy was honored by Secretary Colin Powell as the Community Liaison Officer of the Year in 2003 for her outstanding leadership in managing two evacuations for the US Embassy in Indonesia. Joy had daily coaching conversations with 350 US Embassy employees and family members to guide them through difficult work and life transitions. She also co-facilitated an evacuation workshop for 30 US Ambassadors and coached them on how to be more effective leaders in times of crisis and transition. In addition, she supported five Embassy communities from the Middle East who were evacuated from their posts during the Iraq war.

For over two decades, Joy has worked with senior executives from a wide variety of sectors domestically and internationally including: the US Department of State, USAID, Microsoft, American Express, Meta, Alphabet and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Joy is also the author of Nature’s Guide for Leaders, which invites executives and emerging leaders to reimagine leadership through nature’s wisdom.

As a facilitator at UC Berkeley, Joy has been supporting MBA students to nurture positive team dynamics and foster leadership growth. Additionally, Joy led these groups at Stanford University: 1) MBA female students to explore their individual and collective experiences, and to establish an inclusive community that provides support for navigating their lives. 2) executive learners for the Stanford LEAD online Business Program to create an engaging and integrated learning experience.

At Chief, Joy has been facilitating and coaching for this private network of C-Suite level executive women. In addition, she has facilitated workshops for organizations including the World Economic Forum, Khazanah Nasional, Airbnb and Bay Area startups, regarding stress management and resilience at work.
